About me

My name is Beki, and I live on the Wirral Peninsula, a lovely little part of the UK. I started Lead the Way in 2023, initially as a dog walker specialising in reactive and nervous dogs.

What began as a small part-time side hustle soon expanded into a full-time business, as I realised there was definitely a niche for these slightly more challenging cases - but I absolutely loved building bonds with more nervous dogs and helping guardians who would otherwise struggle to find support for their lovely pets.

I knew exactly how they felt - it was actually my very gorgeous Romanian rescue, Luca (above), who inspired it all.

Luca came to me scared and untrusting, both of people and most other dogs. We do not know much about his background, or even his age - but we do know how much progress he has made over the last three years. Through lots of fun, positive training and co-operative care, Luca has settled into life in rainy England and even has made human and canine friends along the way! His favourite past times include hikes, beach walks, sleeping on the sofa and getting pup-cups from our local cafe!

Luca’s journey inspired me to work with other dogs, enabling them to settle into their home environments and creating strong bonds between them and their guardians.

This love of caring for dogs and tackling some challenging issues inspired me to officially expand into training. I am currently a PACT student, with the aim to become a fully qualified ATI through the ABTC by early 2025.

I am also a Reactivity Specialist with the Dog Training College and am registered with the Pet Professional Guild.

I’ve already helped many dog guardians to better understand their dogs, set up clear communication and create a more harmonious relationship.

I love showing guardians how smart their dogs really are, and seeing that bond really develop over time. Dog guardianship and training can be fun, and I am looking forward to showing you how! I aim to empower dog owners with effective training techniques that foster a deeper bond as well as producing great results. I’m dedicated to transforming challenges into successes through understanding, patience, and respect for every unique canine and human relationship.

Luca enjoying life on the Wirral - walks, furry friends and lots of treats!
