About me
My name is Beki, and I live on the Wirral Peninsula, a lovely little part of the UK. I started Lead the Way in 2023, initially as a dog walker specialising in reactive and nervous dogs.
What began as a small part-time side hustle soon expanded into a full-time business, as I realised there was definitely a niche for these slightly more challenging cases - but I absolutely loved building bonds with more nervous dogs and helping guardians who would otherwise struggle to find support for their lovely pets.
I knew exactly how they felt - it was actually my very gorgeous Romanian rescue, Luca (above), who inspired it all.
Luca came to me scared and untrusting, both of people and most other dogs. We do not know much about his background, or even his age - but we do know how much progress he has made over the last three years. Through lots of fun, positive training and co-operative care, Luca has settled into life in rainy England and even has made human and canine friends along the way! His favourite past times include hikes, beach walks, sleeping on the sofa and getting pup-cups from our local cafe!
Luca’s journey inspired me to work with other dogs, enabling them to settle into their home environments and creating strong bonds between them and their guardians.
This love of caring for dogs and tackling some challenging issues inspired me to officially expand into training. I am currently a PACT student, with the aim to become a fully qualified ATI through the ABTC by early 2025.
I am also a Reactivity Specialist with the Dog Training College and am registered with the Pet Professional Guild.
I’ve already helped many dog guardians to better understand their dogs, set up clear communication and create a more harmonious relationship.
I love showing guardians how smart their dogs really are, and seeing that bond really develop over time. Dog guardianship and training can be fun, and I am looking forward to showing you how! I aim to empower dog owners with effective training techniques that foster a deeper bond as well as producing great results. I’m dedicated to transforming challenges into successes through understanding, patience, and respect for every unique canine and human relationship.
Luca enjoying life on the Wirral - walks, furry friends and lots of treats!

testimonials
“We found Beki in Dec 2023 and haven’t looked back since. She is amazing with our boy who definitely has his quirks but has taken amazingly to Beki. She is highly experienced and knowledgeable with dogs and it shows 😊 Our boy absolutely loves his walks with Beki, she sends me gorgeous photos and will go above and beyond to fit him in when we need. She is highly reliable, trust worthy and professional. I would absolutely recommend her services. Thank you”
— Lindsay, Arlo's mum
“Beki was recommended to us when our dog started to become reactive.
Beki has been amazing with him! She has worked on his reactivity and muzzle training, taking the time to make sure he is happy and feeling safe.
We have noticed such a difference in his behavior.
Beki is fantastic and our dog loves her to bits!”
— Natalie, Draco’s mum
“Beki is reliable, trustworthy and very knowledgeable. If you have a rescue dog who has struggled with reactivity in the past/is struggling with reactivity, you’ll know how important it is to find someone who understands their needs. Beki was this person for us and we cannot recommend her enough!”
— Sara, Saffy’s mum
“Beki was a breath of fresh air and the doggies loved her instantly. When you have a dog who is anxious or has behavioural training to maintain, you need someone who understands their needs and meets them. Beki is experienced with behavioural struggles and as a trainer myself, I can see the amazing patience and skills she has to work with all kinds of dogs.”
— Rachel, Paisley and Shankley's mum
“I would not recommended anyone else! Becki is absolutely amazing with my dog such as teaching him new things as he does pull on the lead a lot on walks, she has come up with new techniques which suit him to stop him from pulling and even after only a few walks it is working so much. She puts a lot of time and effort into meeting the best needs in your dog and gives you the best advice.”
— Maisy, Apollo's mum
“Beki has been walking my reactive German shepherd for the past few months and I am already extremely happy with her services! She is attentive and doesn’t push my dog’s boundaries and comfort levels. She has helped massively in her training and exposure to other dogs and stimuli.
Beki is very responsive, provides photos and details from the walks and most importantly is very reliable and has a genuine care for my fur baby.”
— Sophie, Lyra's mum
